Say hello to Elise Gross, Attorney – Wills, Trusts & Estates at the LeTip of Boca Raton chapter! Elise is originally from New York but spent her formative years in South Florida and has been a resident of Boca Raton since 1996. She has been a trusts and estates attorney for the last 29 years. For 12 of those years, Elise has been teaching Estate Planning and Probate to the paralegal students at Florida Atlantic University. She shared, “I use my teaching skills to educate my clients. My role is to counsel individuals and families about taking responsibility for what will happen if they become incapacitated or pass away. We discuss what will happen if they do no planning and then we talk about the options of wills and trusts and what would be appropriate for their very particular goals and family situation. My job is to guide the client through the best way to protect their loved ones and to head off drama. I also assist the family with probate and trust administration after a client dies. I love what I do and making a difference in their families’ lives. An estate plan requires someone skilled to architect the plan after examining the family dynamics as well as the tax and asset protection goals of a client.”
We asked Elise about the role LeTip has played in her career, and here is what she had to say:
“As a solo practitioner, one of the greatest things I have ever done is to join Le Tip of Boca Raton. I have been a diehard fan ever sense. When I joined in 2010, I was recently separated from my husband and had no regular income stream as my practice had just been a side job for me while I reared my young kids. LeTip became a lifeline: a place to be every Thursday morning to network with professionals and build up my confidence. A good percentage of my business comes from my LeTip members, past and present and many of them have become good friends and sounding boards. Every one of the five reasons that we join is true. My LeTip family has been there for me, holding me up and rooting for my success, comforting me during the tough times and cheering for me. One of the greatest compliments that any friend or colleague can give me is to ask me to help their immediate and extended families with their planning and most of my LeTip family have done that.”
