You may know what your fellow LeTip members do for a living. The causes they care about can take longer to discover. Someone you see every week might also serve on a nonprofit board, spend weekends volunteering, or help people through a difficult change in their lives.
Summer Middleton wanted to give that part of members’ lives a place within LeTip, too.
“At LeTip, supporting our members means caring about more than their businesses,” says LeTip International President & CEO Summer Middleton. “It also means caring about the people, communities, and causes that matter to them.”
That belief led her to create LeTip Gives Back.
What Is LeTip Gives Back?
LeTip Gives Back is a chapter that helps active LeTip members bring greater visibility and support to the nonprofit organizations they are involved with. Launched in 2025, it provides an additional affiliation alongside a member’s local LeTip chapter, without mandatory weekly Gives Back meetings or additional corporate dues.
Rather than establishing a separate LeTip foundation, Summer chose to support the nonprofit organizations members already champion. Those members know the people doing the work. They understand the missions and have their own reasons for staying involved.
LeTip Gives Back gives them another place to share those causes—and gives the wider LeTip community a chance to learn where they might be able to help.
Sometimes Visibility Is the Referral
A nonprofit’s next useful connection may look different from the referrals members exchange for their businesses. It could be an introduction to a prospective board member, an accountant willing to offer expertise, or a business owner interested in sponsoring an event. An organization might need volunteers, help reaching a new audience, or someone who can introduce its leaders to a community partner.
Before any of that can happen, someone has to know the organization exists.
“We know the value of someone saying your business name in a room you are not in,” Summer says. “Imagine that same support extending to a cause you care deeply about.”
Members already understand how much a thoughtful introduction can mean. Extending that habit to a nonprofit begins with learning enough about its work to recognize who might be able to help.
For one organization represented in LeTip Gives Back, opening doors is central to the mission.
Meet Some Causes Our Members Champion
Behind each organization is a cause that matters to one of our members—and an opportunity for someone else in our network to make a difference.
Bridging the Gap for Veterans: Opening Career Doors
LeTip member Josh Morgan represents Bridging the Gap for Veterans, which helps veterans, service members, and their families prepare for civilian careers and connect with employers. With Veterans Day approaching, its work is especially relevant this November.
Founded by retired U.S. Air Force Command Chief Master Sergeant Mike Ferraro, the organization offers career coaching, interview preparation, and introductions to veteran-friendly employers.
“We provide mentorship. They don’t know how to open the doors. We help with that,” Ferraro explained in FDU Magazine in 2022.
That work shows how a professional connection can serve a nonprofit’s mission. An introduction to an employer or someone willing to share their expertise could help a veteran take the next step.
Bridging the Gap’s career discovery process helps participants identify their strengths, develop a career action plan, and meet hiring managers through speed-interviewing sessions. For LeTip members with connections to employers, that offers a practical starting point: introduce the organization to someone involved in hiring, or share its career resources with a veteran or military family who could benefit. A connection that feels routine in your professional life could open a door someone has been struggling to find.
Habitat for Humanity: Helping Families Build a Future
LeTip member Serina Gaston’s work with Habitat for Humanity centers on helping families find a safe, affordable place to call home. After leading Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area, she became CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County in August 2026.
In Habitat Bucks’ Fall 2026 newsletter, Serina describes the purpose she finds in helping people achieve homeownership, writing that her work can “help create opportunities for individuals and families to achieve the dream of homeownership.”
That mission gives fellow LeTip members several ways to contribute. Habitat Bucks welcomes volunteers, business partnerships, and donations to support its housing work. A member’s professional skills or an introduction to a potential partner could become a useful starting point.
Support can also take shape beyond a construction site. Habitat Bucks offers group volunteer opportunities at its ReStores, where donated household goods and building materials are sold to help fund its programs. Businesses can explore sponsoring a build day or supporting homeownership, home repair, and financial education. For a nearby LeTip chapter, volunteering together could be a way to learn more about Serina’s work while contributing time to the community it serves.
These are just two of the nonprofits represented in LeTip Gives Back. Visit the chapter page to explore the full list and learn about the other causes our members support.
How Does Participation Work?
LeTip Gives Back complements local chapter membership. Participants remain active members of another LeTip chapter while gaining an additional opportunity to highlight their nonprofit involvement across the LeTip network.
Eligible members in good standing can participate without additional corporate dues, and there are no mandatory weekly LeTip Gives Back meetings. Members who lead a nonprofit or serve on its board can request information about eligibility and the nonprofit documentation required for review.
For Summer, this is another way to offer Value Beyond Compensation. The relationships members build through LeTip can support work that matters to them well beyond their businesses.
Bring Your Cause Into the Conversation
November gives us several reasons to consider how we support the people around us. Veterans Day invites us to recognize those who served. Thanksgiving gives us a moment to appreciate our communities and the people helping sustain them.
Within your own chapter, start with a conversation. Ask a fellow member about the nonprofit they’re involved with. Find out what keeps them committed and where they could use a hand.
You don’t have to arrive with an offer. Listening may help you recognize an opportunity later, when a client mentions an open position, a colleague asks about volunteering, or someone wants to support a local organization.
If you are an active LeTip member involved with a nonprofit, visit the LeTip Gives Back information page to review participation requirements, request more information, or begin registering your organization.
“We want to be charitable, and we want to support our members,” Summer says.
LeTip Gives Back brings those intentions together through the causes members already love. Getting to know those causes gives the rest of us a chance to become involved.
That’s The Power of Us™.
