Paul Benedict is a Yoga Instructor, Silver Badge Member, and Past President of LeTip of Red Rock, Nevada. We recently had the opportunity to sit down with him and gain insight into his remarkable journey within LeTip and the broader world of business. Here’s what he had to share with us!
Paul’s membership in LeTip began uniquely in 2009, when he joined as a real estate agent representing his chapter. So, how did he transition from real estate to becoming a full-time yoga instructor?
During his time as a real estate agent, Paul spent a lot of energy outside the group teaching meditation, yoga, and spiritual growth as a side passion. Eventually, he developed a five-year plan to shift his career focus from real estate to his true calling: yoga. For those who attended the LeTip National Convention in Las Vegas, you might remember Paul’s inspiring work firsthand as he guided attendees through meditation, energizing everyone for the event. You could feel the vibrant energy in the room. It’s clear that Paul is deeply passionate about yoga and spiritual growth.
If you search the term “yoga” online, it’s defined as “a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, practiced for health and relaxation.” While many people think of yoga as simply practicing postures and breathing in a studio setting—commonly known as physical yoga—Paul’s approach goes far beyond that. For him, yoga isn’t just physical. It’s about a larger, more profound realm that encompasses understanding your soul and finding meaning in life. As Paul explains, “Yoga is more than just physical postures.”
One notable aspect of Paul’s journey is that he credits his ability to pivot toward a yoga career to his time spent working in real estate through LeTip. His real estate business grew so much during his tenure that it gave him the freedom to essentially retire from real estate and fully immerse himself in his new venture. Throughout this transition, Paul’s chapter was incredibly supportive, even as he shifted business categories. He also gave a special shoutout to Summer Middleton, CEO & Owner of LeTip, for her unwavering support during this significant life change.
When asked what he appreciates most about LeTip, Paul humorously remarked, “I’m sure everybody says it’s like a family, right?” This gave us a chuckle because it’s true—just about every member says that when we interview them (and we love hearing it!). He also emphasized the value of the framework, the consistency of interactions, and the trust he’s built with fellow members. Paul even uses his chapter as a testing ground for new ideas and sales techniques. With the trust of the chapter behind him, experimenting in such a supportive environment becomes much easier.
As a past chapter president, Paul understands the immense value of serving on LeTip’s board. He shared that being a board member is invaluable, as the responsibility of leading a chapter helps sharpen your leadership skills. When offering advice to other LeTip leaders, Paul suggests, “Be enthusiastic at meetings, dial up the energy, inject humor and happiness, and don’t be too serious.” He stresses the importance of creating a fun and enjoyable environment, where professionalism is balanced with a sense of play. After all, as Paul puts it, meetings should feel like “a business-oriented hangout.”
Today, Paul offers yoga classes, workshops, retreats, one-on-one sessions, corporate events, and even virtual visits. In addition to being a yoga instructor, he is a published author, musician, and avid traveler who loves hiking.
We had a wonderful time chatting with Paul and learning about his genuine passion for yoga. Thank you, Paul, for taking the time to share your journey with us!
