I’ve been happily married for 7 years to Elizabeth. Kim Marie was at our wedding! I have 4 children, 2 stepsons and 6 grandchildren. I am active in my community, with the local Cub Scout Pack for the past 32 years, and the Chamber of Commerce for the past 4 years. I was just elected treasurer. In the past I served as the chairman of the Sachem School Board Budget Advisory Committee for 4 years. I do enjoy serving my family and community, but also enjoy (pre-pandemic) going to Mohegan Sun & Atlantic City.
I got involved with LeTip through an associate of mine who was in a chapter and I thought this would be a great way to increase my business. After losing a speak-off in another chapter I was contacted by Ken Rubinetti to help start LeTip of Bohemia in 2008. I belong to LeTip because I know it is the BEST networking group. I receive a lot of business from the members, I generate a lot of tips to them, and I’ve made some really good friends.
I am humbled and honored to be nominated for this award. I think I have always looked to put the members of my chapter and their needs first. I do my best to try and address each member’s needs and concerns.
The most challenging thing about being President is making sure you are doing what’s best for all. Keep the members engaged and work to please all. Doesn’t always work but I try.
As President you need to remember you don’t run the chapter, you oversee its successful operation. You may sit up front, but you’re just one of the members of your great group. Stay under the radar and let the others shine. That’s how you know you’re doing a good job.
