While working with Kids and living paycheck to paycheck, I was provided a surgery bill of 1/4 of my annual income. Shortly after, I attended my friend's Mary Kay party and heard about the business opportunity profiting 50% of everything I sold. I am originally from Susanville, CA where I was born and raised. I moved to Redding for college in 2003. I attended Shasta College from 2003 to 2006 then moved to Sacramento and attended Sacramento State University, graduating in 2009 with my bachelors degree in hospitality management and commercial tourism. I have been in the hospitality field since 2009 and have worked at 3 different hotel properties throughout my career. After graduating in 2009, my internship hotel offered me a full time Sales and Events Manager position with a Hilton brand property where I worked for almost 2 years. I then moved back to Redding, CA. where I started a 12 year stretch working at a full service resort. In May of 2023 my dream job at the Sheraton Redding at the Sundial Bridge became available and I went for it. This was the best decision of my professional career and I am so happy to work with an amazing team at a beautiful Marriott property! I have been married to my best friend, Mark Kallmes, for 20 years and we have 2 cats (Indy & Jonesy) and 1 dog (Oliver). I am one of 7 kids and have a huge family that we love to spend all our free time with.

Hello, my name is Mike and I joined Goosehead in 2017. I previously had a Farmers Insurance Agency for the past 12 years and had one of the largest books in Northern California. My wife and I have 4 kids and have little down time with our kids activities in sports and school. I graduated from Simpson University in 2000 with a B.A. in Communications. I am active in our community serving as a board member for our local school and soccer organizations. We love traveling the world and might just someday retire on a cruise ship. Today, our office supports over 8,000 households or 13% of the Redding population. I manage about $17 million in premium with 10 staff. In the next 5 years, we project to be managing about $25 million in premium with 20 staff and serving over 20% of the Redding population. We service anyone in California.
