My name is Christina Stanley, and I help people navigate Medicare so they can feel confident about their healthcare coverage instead of overwhelmed by it. I’m an independent insurance agent, and my favorite part of the job is helping people find coverage that truly fits their needs and their budget. My path into the insurance world was a bit unexpected. In 2004, I married the love of my life, Curt, and moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Tulelake, California. Curt was a U.S. Forest Service firefighter at the time, so during fire season he was often gone for long stretches. Along with the move came a new adventure—helping raise twin 15-year-old boys. I like to joke that during those years it was mostly me and the boys holding down the fort… and somehow we all survived. With limited job opportunities in a small town, I was recruited into the insurance industry. I quickly learned both the good and the bad, and eventually decided to build a practice that focused on the good—working directly with people and helping them make sense of something that can feel very confusing. Today, my work focuses primarily on Medicare recipients. Over the years I’ve had the privilege of hearing incredible life stories from my clients, and those conversations are one of the best parts of my job. When I first started, clients would tell me stories about their grandchildren. Now, as a grandmother of eight myself, I find I have plenty of stories of my own to share. When I’m not helping clients, I enjoy cooking, entertaining, gardening, and working on our 1910 Craftsman home. Curt—now retired—and I love spending time outdoors exploring new places. We’re also proud dog parents to Prisco and Bella, who proudly identify as Italian dogs thanks to my heritage. Helping people, building relationships, and being part of my community are what make this work so meaningful to me.
