From almost losing our home, to becoming a full-fledged business, my mother and I have found a way to serve our community and thrive while doing so. The giant's share of that credit goes to Fran, who has been in the industry for decades, and decided to create her own business with a leap of faith. I came into the picture around 2019, and have devoted my time and effort to the continued success of our Title Insurance venture. We now proudly serve all of New York State, and have a reliable book of business that knows the value we bring to the table.

A little over a year before I walked into my first LeTip meeting, I took a trip to New York City by myself. I went because someone I admired was speaking, and I wanted to hear every word. I sat in the front row, completely happy just to be there. I listened intently, taking it all in. And as I sat there, I found myself thinking about all the questions I wanted to ask. There was just one problem. The presentation wasn’t open for questions afterward. The questions and conversation were happening during a rooftop networking hour following the event. So, I made my way up to the rooftop. And there she was—Caroline. I saw a crowd gathered around her, talking, asking questions, and engaging with her. Exactly the opportunity I had traveled to New York for. I started walking toward the group. And then... I turned around and left. I was too terrified to talk to anyone. I took the subway back—something I had taught myself how to navigate just for this trip—and went home. I had traveled all the way to New York City for an opportunity to learn from someone I admired, and when the moment came to actually engage, fear won. A year later, I found myself walking into my first LeTip meeting. I was greeted at the door. Rick made a little joke, brought me into the room, and introduced me to a few people. And all I could think was “Thank goodness I’m wearing my wide-leg pants”. My legs were shaking so badly, I could barely stand. For some people, the attraction to LeTip is the promise of “More Dollars in Your Pocket.” And yes, LeTip has certainly put dollars in my pocket. But that wasn't what brought me back week after week. For me, LeTip became a place where I could face the fear that had sent me running off that rooftop in New York City. Every week, I showed up. Every week, I spoke. Every week, I networked. And little by little, the thing that had once held me back began to lose its power. I started to discover that networking wasn't about walking into a room and somehow becoming the most confident person there. It was about learning how to connect with people. How to listen. How to ask questions. How to introduce myself. How to make others feel comfortable. And somewhere along the way, I discovered something else: I was capable of more than I had believed. Today, I have had the privilege of serving as a mentor, a board member, and as a facilitator for our new member trainings. The woman who couldn't bring herself to walk into a conversation on a rooftop in New York City now stands in front of a room helping other people find their voice. That transformation is my LeTip success story. Yes, LeTip has put “More Dollars in My Pocket". But the real return has been so much greater. LeTip has shaped my leadership skills. It has strengthened my networking skills. It has challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and, perhaps most importantly, it has brought out of me the person I needed to become for a more successful—and more fulfilling—life. Sometimes success isn't just about what you gain. Sometimes it's about discovering what was already inside you, waiting for the courage to come out.

Jacqueline Zorcik
Arbonne International
Health and WellnessAbout Jacqueline
A little bit about me… My name is Jacqueline Zorcik. Please call me Jackie. I started my Arbonne online personal care business in Nov 2006. It was the best financial and work decision I ever made. I had previously worked for a major corporation for 15 years, right out of college. I liked who I worked with but didn't love the 7am to 7pm branch hours and nonexistent flexibility. However, this corporation did teach branch managers to think like an entrepreneur and I could make decisions to increase the profitability of my branch (like an owner but yet, I was not the owner). Once I got married and started my family, I no longer wanted to work for someone else. Simultaneously, because of my babies, I was learning and becoming aware of personal care products and the range of quality, standards and price points that were available in the US. I have to say I was shocked that we can buy a product from a store that isn't healthy for us to use on our skin or to consume. I was under the false assumption that if it was on the shelf at a store, the government had implemented standards that would make the product safe for my family and me. Unfortunately, that is not that case. I wanted to learn more because honestly I didn't think much about what I used, BUT on my babies, I wanted to know what I was giving them and putting on their skin. NOW 14 years into my business, I love sharing and educating people on how product ingredients and standards are different and what we offer.. Arbonne is a green, vegan, 100% botanically-based (non-GMO, gluten-free, etc.), personal care health and wellness company. We help you be healthy inside and out. I offer over 550 different product that people use every day in 9 different shopping categories. Most households use one or a few types of these products including daily care (hand soap, shave gel, shampoo, conditioner, etc.), anti-aging skincare, acne care, teen line, baby line, men's line, essential oils, make-up, nutrition, and sports nutrition. I truly love my home-based business. My babies are now 15 and 17 years old and I know that our healthy products not only contribute to our family's healthy lifestyle, but my business positively impacts others, too. I serve people that are looking for easy, simple, healthy options. Arbonne also just became a certified B corporation, which means that we care about ingredients, while also being safe for the earth, our environment and being a carbon-neutral company. That means a lot to me.

I come from an insurance and medical sales background my whole life. I know what people need to protect themselves for every type of liability and where to get it from. AFLAC and Combine are not medical insurance they are supplemental insurances that pay you after you seek medical attention for sickness or an accident. 60% of all bankruptcies happen from a medical event and those people had medical insurance. I love helping people weather it’s from being a volunteer fireman for 36 years or helping them with there insurance needs or referring them to someone when they need to get something done.

Kerri Engblom
Opal Operations
BookkeeperAbout Kerri
With over 20 years of experience overseeing business operations, back-office functions, and financial management, I founded Opal Operations to bring the kind of infrastructure support that larger companies take for granted directly to the small businesses that need it most. My bookkeeping work goes beyond recording transactions. I build the financial systems behind the numbers - clean charts of accounts, monthly reconciliations, cash flow clarity, and books that are always tax-ready and tell the real story of a business. I am a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and work closely alongside my clients' CPAs to ensure their financials are accurate, organized, and never a surprise at year end. I am also a proud participant in the LIA-AI Growth Academy, a Google.org-funded program through the Long Island Association and Stony Brook University, where I was trained alongside the great minds at the Stony Brook AI Institute to integrate AI-powered automation into the bookkeeping and back office operational systems I build for clients. My goal is to bring those tools directly to Long Island small businesses at an accessible price point.
About Opal Operations
Opal Operations is a bookkeeping and business operations practice serving small businesses across Long Island.
We specialize in monthly bookkeeping, books cleanup and catch-up, and QuickBooks Online setup and migration for small businesses who are ready to stop guessing at their finances and start making decisions with clear, accurate numbers. As a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor practice, we deliver clean, reconciled, tax-ready books every month and work in close coordination with our clients' CPAs and financial advisors to ensure the full financial picture is always in order.
Beyond bookkeeping, Opal Operations supports small business owners who are growing faster than their systems can handle. Helping them streamline how they operate, reduce the tools they rely on, and build the organizational clarity that lets a business scale without everything running through the owner.
We are a project-based, part-time practice, meaning clients get exactly the support they need, without the overhead of a full-time hire.
Opal Operations is a current participant in the LIA-AI Growth Academy, a Google.org-funded AI training initiative in conjunction with Stony Brook University and the SBDC of Long Island, and is actively developing AI-powered tools and automations for Long Island small businesses.

Susan Kennedy
Tend Coffee
Coffee and VendingAbout Susan
We all have that "red thread" linking us to our destinies. As a child, Susan remembers exactly how she drank her coffee while her older brother enjoyed his hot chocolate. Looking back, the Sunday mornings with her dad to pick up coffee and the newspaper, weekday afternoon bike rides to the coffee shop and sneaking in cups of coffee to school may have been some of the stops along the way for Susan. But like all great things come in due time this is not where life lead her at first. Graduating with a Masters in Foodservice Education from Johnson & Wales University in 2000, Susan was looking for a company she could grow with. That is when she found about about this up an coming (on the East Coast) company called Starbucks. There had been a couple of their stores opening in the area where she grew up but not much thought was given to them until she was researching about their mission and philosophies. That was it, the company she needed to be part of. Beginning as an Assistant Store Manager, she quickly moved up to Store Manager within a couple of months. There, she used her passion for coffee and the company to become one of the main Management/District Management trainers and Certified to certify some of the first Coffee Masters in the company. While her passion for coffee continued to grow. There were other priorities in life that lead her away from that coffee journey. With a baby on the way and a husband working (uncountable hours) as a chef at a Hampton's restaurant, something needed to change. This is where they joined forces and began Chokola'j. An online boutique chocolate company. Here, they were both able to share their passions with the world. Winning awards, shipping internationally and being showcased in multiple national publications such as Martha Stewart, Culinary Trends and Weddings Magazine. Looking for a very specific coffee profile for one of their confections, they began roasting their own coffee. Alas, this was the perfect complement to their chocolates. Tend Coffee was born in 2011, roasting coffee for Chokola'j, selling to Whole Foods, local restaurants, cafes and retailers and eventually its own cafe. Today, you can find Susan at the cafe, around town networking and at the Tuesday morning Port Jefferson LeTip Meetings.
