Andrew S. Filipazzi serves as counsel in the Firm’s Land Use and Zoning Practice Group. Mr. Filipazzi represents clients on land use and zoning matters across Long Island, ranging from large-scale real estate developers to single-family residences. Mr. Filipazzi’s practice includes commercial and residential real estate transactions, including the sale and mortgage of real property owned by religious corporations, as well as business asset transactions. Mr. Filipazzi has also represented numerous religious and not-for-profit corporations on mergers, dissolutions, corporate governance, and related matters concerning the Religious Corporations Law (RCL) and Not-For-Profit Corporations Law (NPC). Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Filipazzi worked as a litigation associate with a focus primarily in commercial litigation motion practice and discovery. Mr. Filipazzi authored the article titled “The Sale of Federal Lands in New York: What Might the Future Hold for Plum Island and Local Land Uses” which was published in the New York Zoning Law and Practice Report. Mr. Filipazzi received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and his Bachelor of Science, from State University of New York, College at Oneonta.

I have a long history in New York's mortgage banking industry, starting my career in mortgage banking working for a small family-owned bank that was co-founded by my father in 1980. After serving as Executive Vice President for many years, I went on to become part of corporate management at a very large federally chartered bank in 2007. After nearly a decade in corporate America, I returned home in 2015 upon the passing of my father. After assisting in selling the family business, I joined Caliber Home Loans as their New York State Area Manager to do what I love, which is managing and expanding a platform that will offer New Yorkers the best possible mortgage experience available. I am truly passionate about my profession and the result is that nearly 100% of my personal business is done by referral from satisfied clients, trusted financial advisers, attorneys, and the most experienced Realtors across the state. I am recognized as one of the premier FHA, VA and Conventional mortgage professionals in New York State. I also take a very active role in Suffolk County's public arena, having campaigned for a variety of civic issues in which I believe. I ran for Suffolk County Legislature in 2003 and is committed to raising the level of services that homeowners in Suffolk County receive, and keeping more families on Long Island by making home ownership attainable for more and more first time home buyers. In 2024 I founded Assumemyloan.com to further assist my homebuyers in helping them to assume the existing low rate mortgage loans that already exist on the homes they want to purchase.

After a career in music, I entered the real estate business in 1985. I have been a branch manager, real estate trainer and I owned 2 RE/MAX offices from 2005-2016. I sold the company and now I am in sales as a real estate broker in the RE/MAX office I sold. Our office is now located in Pt. Jefferson Station. I love being back to working with the public, listing and selling homes in Suffolk County. I work on both the north and south shores, and even on occasion in Nassau County.
