Charlie started his insurance career in the early 1980’s with John Hancock where he was an agent, then sales manager for a local agency. In 1987 Charlie joined his father, Edward F. Spencer, at his agency in Jenkintown where they sold personal and commercial insurance products. It was there that he learned the property casualty insurance business. In 1993 Charlie purchased his father’s agency and started Spencer Insurance Agency, Inc. One year later, he purchased Walter Hauck’s and Bill Webster’s agencies, merging them into Spencer Insurance Agency, Inc. He has built the agency from a one company agency in 1963 to an independent insurance agency representing several well-respected insurance companies. His goal is to provide clients the protection they need at a very competitive price. In addition to managing and marketing the agency, Charlie’s specialty is in Life, Disability, and Long Term Care Insurance. Charlie believes in giving back to the community by supporting local community organizations. He recently started a quarterly charity gift in conjunction with his referral program. Each quarter Spencer Insurance highlights a charity by donating and encouraging others to donate as well. Charlie resides in Lansdale, PA with his wife, Tammy. They have four adult children. In his spare time Charlie enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren, and takes a stab at golfing. He enjoys vacationing on the lakes of Maine and New Hampshire and taking the boat out waterskiing or tubing with the kids, fishing, or just a peaceful sunrise or sunset cruise on the lake.
