Brian Jolles recruited me for LeTip over 20 years ago and is responsible for one of the best pieces of advice I received in my 47 years in the property and casualty insurance industry. “Picture this” said Brian as he made a non-visible, non-touchable topic come alive before our group of LeTip members. Chalk up another practical business idea I have learned in LeTip! How many times I have used “picture this” to explain an insurance product that you can’t touch, taste, feel, or smell, to a prospect or client I can’t say, but I can tell you that it changed my sales approach for the better.
Has LeTip been good for our business? – you bet! There was the time when a client needed an emergency board up of a commercial building at 11:00PM on a Friday night. A fellow LeTip member was there with one phone call. Or the time one of our members was in an intensive care unit and as President, I had another member of our LeTip chapter step in and run his bookkeeping office free of charge.
As independent insurance agents, we take pride in being a resource for our clients for needs beyond insurance. If we can help your business grow, stay safe, stay legal, hire good employees, buy dependable goods and services in addition to insurance it’s a “win-win”! LeTip helps make all that possible which in turn makes us more valuable to both prospects and clients. Hundreds, perhaps thousands of times, if I don’t know an answer, a LeTip member will.
I’ll finish with a plug for what we do. We are Independent Property and Casualty Agents based in Maryland who have been in business for over 37 years. Our agency started insuring commercial and personal clients of all types and sizes by providing the best possible advice and insurance products from multiple insurance companies we represent. Clients and prospects benefit from our “independence” and competitive prices, and our full attention when it comes to service, claims, and providing “non-insurance” assistance whenever possible. Networking has always been a big part of that equation and in turn LeTip has been a big part of our success.
Last and most important – the value of what we have learned from others while being part of LeTip of South Carroll from day one is priceless!
