Between You & Me

When you are in business, proper vocabulary can mean the difference between you landing a new piece of business or not. A common mistake in spoken English is to say ‘between you and I’. In standard English, it’s grammatically correct to say ‘between you and me’ and incorrect to say ‘between you and I’. The reason for this is that a preposition such as between should be followed by an objective pronoun (such as me, him, her and/or us) rather than a subjective pronoun (such as I, he, she and/or we). Sounds like grammar school, doesn’t it? The lessons from those days can make a big difference. We can learn from Warren Buffett who said, ‘I may have more money than you, but money doesn’t make the difference. If there is any difference between you and me, it may simply be that I get up and have a chance to do what I love to do, every day. If you learn anything from me, this is the best advice I can give you.’

Between you and me, the lesson learned is that when you have that referral to pitch your business to someone that was recommended for you to see, you will not mess that opportunity up by incorrect or improper grammar. You see, most of the new business pitches you make in your lifetime are between someone else and you. It’s one on one. You have to convince them that your friend who recommended you, did so with the full belief that you could do the job better than anyone else. And, as an added bonus, you will, in doing so, be able to help your friend reach his and/or her goals. Referrals are hard to come by. Except at LeTip. Passing referrals to members is the LeTip Advantage™. For 40 years, LeTip, the world’s leading business networking group, has provided its members, now numbering well over 5,000 women and men, the opportunity to meet and work with the very best. Every member is dedicated in helping their fellow chapter members to grow, through referrals, qualified referrals, each week.

And, there is exclusivity for every member in LeTip. There is only one residential real estate agent as a member in a LeTip Chapter. As there is only one CPA as a member. Exclusivity means exactly that…the only one within your category. After all, if one joins as an accountant and there are 20 other accountants, no one is going to give you any accounting work. But if you are the only accountant, that’s putting ‘Dollars in your pocket’.

We are here to help you build your business through referral. If you are a business person with integrity, we have the contacts you need to achieve your goals. This is the meaning of ‘between you and me’ in its purest form. Contact:www.facebook.com/letipintl/ or call 1 (800) 495-3847 right now.
