Cancer changed how I lead, how I work, and how I live. It reminded me that real strength isn’t in pushing through at all costs. It’s in knowing when to speak up, slow down, and take care of yourself. I had to become my own advocate, and that decision saved my life.
At LeTip, we talk a lot about showing up, for our businesses, our chapters, and each other. But I’ve learned the only way to truly show up is to start by showing up for yourself. Balance isn’t accidental, in fact, it’s built with intention. Protecting your time, your health, and your energy isn’t selfish, it’s what allows you to thrive as a leader and as a human being.
My hope is that my story gives you permission to do the same. Schedule the appointment. Say no when it matters. Block time for rest like you would for a board meeting. Because when you advocate for yourself, you don’t just survive, you rise. And when you rise, everything around you rises too. That’s the kind of growth I want to see in LeTip, and in life.
