Two months away from their 27-year anniversary, LeTip of Harrisburg has been one of LeTip’s strongest Chapters in Pennsylvania. Once the stay at home mandate was issued in Pennsylvania, chapter meetings were immediately conducted online through Zoom. Although attendance was a challenge, the chapter encouraged members to attend online with everyone adjusting to what was going on around us. Board members have been truly committed, dedicated individuals.
Working through the challenges, the Mixer Committee hosted a Trivia Night via Zoom which was a great way to have some fun and reconnect with fellow LeTip Members. Attendees reached out to non-attendees to invite them to join the chapter for Trivia Night in hopes of helping their attendance.
LeTip of Harrisburg Metro prides themselves in the reliability and commitment from each member. They found the ability to adapt to what was needed necessary to continue strong through COVID times. The chapter made sure members knew that their best interests and safety were top priority. Members who go above and beyond include Karen Young, Boby Scomak, and Carmen Calderon. These members actively brought members to our Zoom meetings during COVID times. Karen Young broke down LeTipWired as an easy understandable process for
the Chapter and helped the transition to Wired as smoothly as it could’ve been. She took it upon herself to manually enter all tips for 2020 Pre-Covid so that the data would stay as accurate as possible. During COVID time period, the chapter password an astonishing 459 tips for $139,917 in value. Amazing!
In August, they pivoted an in-person meeting at a local park. They had members sign up to attend so they knew in advance how many and the restaurant member provided pre ordered boxed lunches. They learned a lot and have another scheduled for September 10. The Chapter Board is exploring the idea of hybrid meetings to ensure all members feel safe coming out of quarantine but also are continuing the networking needed.
“I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by such professionals. Considerate, compassionate open-minded people with one goal: success of our chapter and its members at every level!” – Walter Wilhelm, Chapter President
