When the pandemic hit and we were locked inside, I wanted to continue having lunch with members as I did in person for years prior. When I invited a small group to come have lunch with me, the “Lunch Bunch” was born. Stay as long or short as you want and have lunch with people going through the same thing you are going through – loneliness, loss of business, loss of clients. But during darkness came the light. No one is alone, we have each other, LeTip is a family.
Janiece, Summer and I came up with Topics for the calls. The topics became the common bond for all different members. Your favorite musical group, favorite food, vacation spot etc. Common interest then spurred relationship that built into trust and networking. A young photographer who had all their 2020 weddings cancelled got a photoshoot from an interior designer in Maryland. A social media networker got a referral from a member in a totally different state. You never know the power of a conversation. The call is different every week with a core of members coming on often and other coming on and off whenever convenient to their schedule.
The Lunch Bunch call is scheduled weekly on Wednesday’s from 9AM – 10:30 AM Pacific / 12 – 1:30 PM Eastern.
Happy Hour is similar but the thought behind it was “end your stressful week at your neighborhood hang out with some of your friends”. No matter what is going on in this crazy world, our light is always on. This was modeled like the sitcom Cheers. We have our regulars that we laugh till we cry with, we have our friends who stop in on their way home and every so often a wiry traveler who just needs a place to rest. All are welcome no questions ever asked. You don’t even have to partake of any of our conversation; only if you want to.
Happy Hour calls are scheduled weekly on Friday’s from 1:00PM – 2:30PM Pacific / 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM Eastern.
Members have opened about their business, their families, their fears, and their successes. Relationships business and personal are forming. This is a snowball getting bigger and better as it rolls down the hill. My goal is it keeps rolling and never gets to the bottom. Even when the pandemic ends.
Both end the same way: We hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy and we hope to see everyone. We will be here waiting!
