What is WineShop At Home? WineShop At Home is a Napa Valley winery which offers more unique wine styles, varietals and appellations from California and throughout the world than any other company. Our wines, many of which are gold, silver, and bronze medal winners – are handcrafted in small batches by our winemaker (third generation from the Bordeaux region of France) and priced for extraordinary value. Our current wines are featured in our Wine Tastings, by the bottle, our popular monthly Wine Club, and as Personalized Wine, perfect for corporate gift-giving and celebrating life’s most special occasions.

How did we get started in ‘the Wine Biz’? My husband, Dave, and I were invited to a wine tasting at our neighbor’s home one Saturday afternoon. So much fun! Her host sampler, one of several packages offered, were all sweet wines. Though neither of us are sweet wine drinkers, we noticed everyone was really enjoying the wine so they must have been good. WineShop at Home is ‘taste before you buy’ experience, and at the end of the tasting we had opportunity to purchase the wines we’ve just tasted (or any other wine off the supplied Tasting Menu). I turned to Dave and notice he is ordering 6 bottles of the drier, red wines. I leaned over and whispered to him, ‘What are you doing, we have so much wine at home?’ He said to me, ‘We might want to look at this business closer but need to know the reds are as good as the whites.’ He then asked the wine consultant if she could come over to our house and tell us more about wine as a business. Well, 2 days later she was in our kitchen giving us the some very inspiring information about WSAH’s business model and her experiences. I said, ‘So wait, we get to drink amazing wine, talk about wine with other wine lovers, and we can earn an income?’ ‘Sign us up!’

Dave and I have been in the Wine Biz for 3 years and enjoying every luscious minute! We have about 4-6 In-Home tastings a month with each event different from the next. We really enjoy sharing our wines with the guests as well as sharing a little education to help them enjoy wine in general more fully. As far as wine, there is no right or wrong to what you like or don’t like. As I say, ‘There’s a wine for every palate and a palate for every wine. So just enjoy!’ Along with tastings we do sell a good volume of our Personalized Wines for businesses and special events and have had dozens of people join our monthly Wine Club. It is so rewarding to get feedback from our customers on their gift of our personalized wines.

How did we learn about LeTip? Deenie Pomilia, with RE/MAX Suburban, and I were introduced through a mutual networking friend. Over lunch one day, Deenie invited me to a LeTip meeting. She asked if I wanted to meet a dynamic group of professionals the next morning, breakfast was on her! That is all she said; didn’t talk about LeTip, the cost to join, the expectations, etc. She just said, ‘Come, you won’t be sorry.’ So, I attended the meeting and was so impressed with the group; the professionalism, the enthusiasm, the amount and quality of referrals and LeTip as an organization overall. And I can honestly say, I’m not sorry. Quite the opposite!
